Description: Gosling Cup is one of the most prestigious events within the Area 8 Calendar. 2024 sees the event run alongside the Area 70cm Eventing Qualifier. Area 70cm Regional Eventing Qualifer - Prelim level dressage test, show jumping and cross country courses at 70cm. This is a qualifier for the Regional Final on 24th - 25th August for which you must also be available. Individuals and teams can be put forward. PC70 -Members must be aged 13 and under on 1st January of the current year. Area Competitions and Championships: Riders are NOT eligible if they have previously competed at any PC80 or above Area or Regional competition for Eventing. PC70 PLUS - This is a class solely for individuals. There is no team competition. Members must be aged 14 and over on 1st January of the current year. Area Competitions and Championships: Riders are NOT eligible if they have previously represented their Branch/Centre at PC80 or above in any Eventing competitions. GOSLING CUP Teams of 4 compete in an altered version of a one day event; Tack and Turn Out - No longer part of the overall Gosling mark but never the less you will need to turn out smartly to represent EFPC! Team Ride - Set drill ride for all four riders. You will need to commit to 4 training sessions in the 4 weeks prior to the competition. 24/05, 29/05, 02/06 (Compulsory) and 12/06 - all in little baddow. This will allow the horses to get to know each other and we can determine the order you ride in. Dressage - A current dressage test - Prelim level SJ - A course of 85cm Show Jumps Handy Hunter - A course of 85cm including simple obstacles such as opening and shutting a gate. We may also make individual entries if there are insufficient for a team. PLEASE CHECK YOUR ELIGIBILITY!! Each team shall consist of four members, with four ponies, not exceeding 157 centimetres (15.2 hands). The ponies must be certified by the District Commissioner to have been regularly ridden at Pony Club Rallies, and to be within the required height. Age of Competitor: Under 17 years of age on the day of the Competition. However, one team member only may be aged over 17 years/up to 25 years.
