Description: Essex Farmers are hosting the Area 8 Mounted Games qualifer again in 2024. Even if games is not for you as riders we need your help to support the club at this important event - please let us know if you are available to help, for an hour or several on the day!
Mounted Games is a team sport that combines a love of ponies and friends with various races. Teams of four or five riders and ponies take part in a series of exciting and exhilarating races that involve a mix of turns, handovers, skill, vaulting and galloping against other teams.
Our General Games Rallies are an ideal way to see if you and your pony enjoy games and to start training towards representing the club at Areas.
Those competing MUST be available to compete at the next level - Zones - should we qualify, on 20th July 2024. (And then if/when we qualify for Nationals between 9th and 17th August 2024!)
Seniors - Riders must not have attained their 15th birthday by the beginning of the current calendar year (i.e. they must have been born in the year 2009 or later)
Juniors - Riders must not have attained their 11th birthday by the beginning of the current calendar year (i.e. born in the year of 2013 or after).
Novice team - open to all - for those on lead rein or who are not quite yet ready to go it alone. Non qualifying class.
Pairs - Members must have attained their 11th birthday by the beginning of the current calendar year and must not have attained their 19th birthday by the beginning of the current calendar year. If we have extra members wanting to take part but insufficient for a team then we will endeavour to make up some Pairs.

Open to all Members of The Pony Club.
Members must not have represented another branch at games in the last 14 months.
Horses must be 4yrs old or over and not exceeding 148cm (14.2hh).
A rider weighing over 54kg may not ride a pony 128cm or under.
A rider weighing over 60kg may not ride a pony 133cm or under.
A rider weighing over 66kg may not ride a pony 138cm or under
